Officially established in January of 2013, Backyard Box Los Angeles had a humble beginning- a backyard and a garage. It grew into a beautiful 2500 square foot facility in the heart of Commerce, Ca. Backyard Box Los Angeles became a CrossFit Affiliate in May of 2014, Backyard CrossFit was born. We have evolved over the years, just like our athletes. Our home now is a 6000 square foot facility in Montebello, which houses all of our programs. ,
From the beginning, the goal and mission statement of Backyard Box was to provide an inclusive workout environment, to workout with friends and to provide a dynamic environment for workouts that actually produce results. Once you get past the intimidation factor, the workouts are challenging, tiring and exhausting, yet they are accessible- fitness for everyone. Ultimately, the goal was to have fun, while pushing your body and mind to the limit.
At Backyard CrossFit, you will not encounter endless rows of machines or lack of direction during your workout session. We will run, jump, lift, push, pull, sweat, and shed the occasional tear. You will be challenged, like you've never been challenged before. You will be more than just a member, you will be part of a team, a community and a family.
Our goal at Backyard CrossFit is the success of our team. It is fitness for everyone, and unlike big gyms you will not be ignored, you will be coached through movements to ensure proper form and execution. Our programs are for beginners and advanced athletes, our coaches will ensure that the workouts will meet you where you are at- fitness wise. Whether you are a beginner that has never lifted weights before, to the former athlete who still has the itch for competition. We are here to help you reach your fitness goals.

The workouts in this program combine a variety of functional movements- everything from cardio and gymnastics to power lifting and olympic lifting. Every day brings something new. This program covers strength and conditioning from top to bottom.
Burn
Burn is fast paced and fun CrossFit workouts with an emphasis on cardio. Workouts in this program combine moderate skilled movements for a highly effective workout. The program is beginner friendly potent enough for the event the most seasoned athlete.
24/7 Open Gym
Our facility is available to our members 24/7/365. The equipment is available for you to use in order to complete individual programs or simply sweat a little when life gets too busy. We strongly recommend to have a plan! Our coaches are available to get you on the right path, whether it is CrossFit, Powerlifting, Weightlifting or Bodybuilding. Exercising is great, but training is even better. Be mindful of others and share the spaces and equipment available. If you have any questions during open gym time, feel free to ask, we are happy to help.
Custom Programming
Our coaches are trained to program for your training needs. Whether it's additional accessory work to do after your CrossFit class or you would like to add strength through dedicated strength programs, our coaches are ready to design a program that works for you.
